At the end of the summer education campaign, the training ship Amerigo Vespucci is ready to continue its exploratory journey around the entire Italian "boot". During the month of October it will sail in the upper Adriatic, stopping in Venice from 13 to 20 October 2017, where for seven days it will be anchored at the Riva di San Biagio, right in front of the Venice Arsenal. Then on October 20 it will resume its journey towards Trieste, where it will stop for four days, before heading south, towards Taranto.
Last summer the Vespucci Ship carried out the Summer Education Campaign in favor of the Official Students of the Naval Academy of Livorno and, after a demanding Atlantic crossing pushed by the trade winds, returned 16 years later to the United States and Canada, where in Montreal it hosted the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on board for the celebrations of the "150th anniversary of the Canadian confederation".

The Amerigo Vespucci is a sailing ship owned by the Italian Navy, built as a training ship for the official students of the Naval Academy. Designed together with the "twin" Cristoforo Colombo, it was launched in 1931 in Castellamare di Stabia. From 1946 to 1952 it was the only sailing school ship of the Italian navy.
