of Veneto.

Like most of Italy, Venice has a fairly
temperate climate. July and August are
the hottest months and also the most crowded,
with temperatures often exceeding 30ºC. Visitors should
consider that the air in Venice can become
very humid, and this coupled with the high
temperatures of the summer months can lead
to discomfort. April, May, September
and October are probably the best months
to visit with bright sunny days and cooler
temperatures. Winters in Venice are generally
fairly mild however be warned that temperatures
in the coldest months of December and January
can fall as low as 0ºC. There are two predominant winds in the
Northern Adriatic region : the Bora - a
cold dry wind blowing predominantly from
the North East usually generating clear
skies, and the Scirocco - a warm
and humid wind originating over Northern
Africa, which when combined with spring
tides can cause flooding in the historic
centre of Venice.
